Meerut is situated between the holy rivers Ganga and Yamuna. The fertile Ganga-Yamuna Doab had been an important center of human activities since the very early times of Vedic Civilization. It lies between 28.2 ° latitudes and 77.7 ° longitudes in the northern plains of India. The foundation stone of the college was laid down by Dr. P. Das, Deputy Director General, I.C.A.R, New Delhi, on 26th August 2006. The College of Technology came into existence in the year 2013 and was inaugurated by the former Honorable Ex-President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, on 6th March 2014. It is a constituent college of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut, dedicated to advancing engineering and technological education in the fields of agriculture and allied sciences. The College, ever since its inception, has been undergoing constant transition in terms of infrastructure, course curriculum, and degree programs. College provides a model curriculum that blends teaching, research, and innovation with practical training, thus providing ample opportunities to the students. The College of Technology is privileged to have a well-qualified and experienced faculty with a judicious mix of creative, talented, and committed academicians, and more than 94% of faculty members hold a Ph.D. degree in their respective fields from national and international institutions of repute.

The College of Technology is offering a four-year degree program in B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) from 2019 as well as M Tech (Process & Food Engineering) & Ph.D. (Agriculture Process & Food Engineering) programs. Admissions to B. Tech programs are through Uttar Pradesh Combined Agriculture and Technology Entrance Test (UPCATET), and admissions to M Tech and PhD programs are through GATE Score and Uttar Pradesh Combined Agriculture and Technology Entrance Test (UPCATET). From the academic year 2025-2026, the College of Technology proudly expands its academic horizon by introducing Master's and Doctoral programs in Farm Machinery & Power Engineering, Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, and Soil & Water Conservation Engineering. Additionally, we are excited to launch the much-anticipated B.Tech degree program in Computer Science Engineering, equipping students with the skills to thrive in the digital era. Admission in B.Tech Computer Science Engineering is through AKTU counselling/ JEE mains scores.

The College of Technology boasts state-of-the-art laboratories, modern classrooms, advanced computing facilities, and research centers. With well-equipped workshops and specialized labs, students gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge technologies relevant to their fields. The college also emphasizes smart farming, automation, and sustainable development to align with the latest industry trends. The main objective of the College of Technology is to make provisions of technical education mainly for rural people of Uttar Pradesh to provide best facilities for research and extension in the field of Agriculture Engineering & Technology. College has also drone pilot training for small and medium sized.
