About the Department

Food Safety and Quality Assurance plays a pivotal role in driving the comprehensive development of the global food processing sector. The Department of Food Safety and Quality Assurance at College of PHT and Food Processing, SVPUA & T, Meerut (U.P.) is dedicated to advancing education, research, and innovation in the field of food safety, quality control, and assurance. Our mission is to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the safety, quality, and sustainability of food products from farm to fork. With Food Microbiology, Food Adulteration and Food Analysis laboratories, industry-oriented training programs, and a multidisciplinary approach, the department focuses on areas such as microbiological and chemical analysis of foods in view of regulatory compliance, and the development of novel detection technologies. The department is actively engaged in imparting skills and knowledge to generate ready to employ manpower to cater food industry and academia in the field of food safety & quality.
